The Carlisle High School library is set up for easy browsing, self-study, group work, and class visits/work area. It also contains two computer labs for class and individual use.
The library collection is continually changing. Our major goal over the next few years is to revamp the nonfiction and biography sections so it is up-to-date and more user-friendly. Our fiction selection is a nice balance of classics and popular teen and adult novels. We have just recently begun a graphic novel collection.
Our high school participates in the annual Iowa Teen Award and Iowa High School Book Award voting in the spring, and we own multiple copies of each title. We are also in the process of adding more nationally award-winning books such as the National Book Award for Young Readers, The Michael L. Prinze Award, and the Alex Award.
We have current subscriptions to many popular periodicals for leisure and academic reading:
