Carlisle School District Counseling Mission Statement

The Carlisle School Counseling Department, in partnership with students, families, and our community is dedicated to:  meeting the needs of all students, recognizing the uniqueness of each child, and preparing students to lead productive, moral, responsible lives.

Carlisle School District Counseling Department Philosophical Statement

The counselors in the Carlisle Schools believe:

• All students can be successful
• Every student is a unique individual who deserves to feel safe, engaged, and connected at school
• All students should have access to the counseling program
• All students ethnic, cultural, racial, sexual differences and special needs are considered in planning and implementing the SC program

And that the Carlisle comprehensive school counseling program should:

• Be collaborative in nature, including all stakeholders
• Be planned and coordinated by the school counseling team
• Use data to drive program development and evaluation
• Be evaluated annually
• Utilize the many resources available

And that all counselors in the Carlisle Schools:

• Abide by the professional school counseling ethics as advocated by the American School Counselor Association
• Participate in and provide professional development activities essential to maintaining a quality school counseling program
